Antarctica is a barren land of ice – well almost barren! There’s a lot to be discovered here and altough there are no permanent human residents, anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people reside throughout the year at the research stations scattered across the continent. Only cold-adapted plants and animals survive there, including penguins, seals and many types of algae. This theme can fit into almost every subject including the obvious one of geography. There are many myths and legends about this large continent and this can tie into lots of other subjects. Rate the links below and add your own to the mash.
