On 25th January, 1924, the first Winter Olympics games took place in the French Alps on this day. Two of the primary Sports that took place on this mountain were bob sled and ski jump competitions. In all, 12 events featuring the play of six different sports were scheduled.

All Saints’ Day is a Christian holiday which commemorates the dead.  In Ireland it is also the day where the season of winter begins.  We are unique that we believe winter starts in November as other countries in the Northern Hemisphere begin winter in December.
