Did you know that the Wizard of Oz is a book written by L. F. Baum? Baum was born on 15th May 1856 so this would be a good date to try out the theme with a class. The film is part of cinema history and even though it’s over 70 years old, it still looks impressive. Themes of love, courage and intelligence can all come from the characters in the story and it can even be nice to simply learn some of the songs like Follow the Yellow Brick Road.
